creepin' & crawlin'
It's official - yesterday morning, on her 10th month birthday, Puchis started crawling. We were in the bathroom and she was playing on the floor with a couple of toys when she suddenly looked up at me, scooted those two chunky legs behind her and started motoring herself towards me. She didn't get super far - only a couple of 'steps' but it was enough. Yesterdayshe kept trying to crawl and today she started scooting around pretty well. She even scooted right up to Chola who didn't like that at all and barked at Emi right in her face which naturally startled the poor booboo. My girl - she's growing so fast.
(She's wearing her Liga jersey and shorts since they played yesterday evening. Apparently it was good luck since Liga won their game 4 -1!)

swingin' sunday
Papa finally had the chance to hang Emi's swing this afternoon so she took it for a test ride. I think it's going to provide tons and tons of fun. We have had a nice weekend full of Papa's cooking (eggplant rolotini this time) and picking out Mama's ring upgrade! :) She also had fun at the neighborhood pool on Friday.

Even happy girls get the blues...
I took this picture of Emi-loo-loo crying yesterday because I read somewhere that it's important to take a picture of them when they're less-than-happy because you tend to only take pictures of them when they're smiling and then you forget what they looked like crying. To clarify, she was just crying because she wanted me to stand her up. She fell asleep about 5 minutes after this picture was taken.

tricks up her sleeve
At 9 1/2 months old Emilia is able to do a number of things including the following:
say "mamamama" and "dadadada" most of the time associating "mama" with myself. "dada" she just says to everything else pretty much.
clap her hands (this is a new skill and one we've worked hard on)
pull up on your fingers and "walk/toddle"
sit down from a standing position (with some assistance).
hold her sippy cup on her own.
feed herself finger foods (pieces of dehydrated fruit, rice crackers, etc).
suck her thumb (an important trait among the Serranos!)
scoot towards something while sitting on her bottom or on her tummy.
roll over (an expert at this!)
Any day now she will begin to crawl. She can get herself into an all-fours position for about a second from a sitting position but she has yet to figure out how to move herself. It makes me so sad to think about how quickly she's growing now. I could just burst in to tears at how my Puchis is getting so big... I feel like tomorrow she'll be going off to college. :(
